Rejlers acquires 100% of the shares in the Norwegian technology consultancy company, KANtech AS, which specializes in railway technology. KANtech is expected to have a turnover of almost 20 million NOK in 2020 with good profitability. The acquisition is part of Rejlers growth strategy and Rejlers in Norway now establishes a new business area, Infrastructure, and strengthens the company’s position in the growing railway market in Norway.
KANtech is known for its expertise in railway technology and major railway projects. The company offers project and construction management as well as engineering management and railway technical advice. KANtech, with office in Oslo, was founded in 2006 and has seven employees and a network of sub-consultants. Bane NOR is the company’s largest customer and KANtech has held leading roles in several major railway projects over the years.
“The acquisition of KANtech gives Rejlers Norway a strong position in the railway market with the possibility of significant growth in the coming years,” says Petter Arnesen, CEO of Rejlers in Norway.
“We look forward to working with Rejlers to create a stronger infrastructure business. Rejlers has the skills and resources we need to support a larger expansion of the business,” says Martin Algrøy, CEO of KANtech.
The takeover of KANtech will take place from 1 January 2021. With the acquisition, Rejlers is establishing itself in the infrastructure area in Norway. The construction of the new business area is carried out in close cooperation with Rejlers Swedish rail business area, which consists of approximately 80 employees and is part of the Industry & Infrastructure division.
