Melesio partners with Byggmester Markhus

Byggmester Markhus – Successful reconstruction and new partnership secures more than 100 jobs and lays the foundation for another 40 years as a trusted building contractor.

Byggmester Markhus has entered into a partnership with the investment company Melesio. Following a challenging period under court protection and through reconstruction proceedings, the management of Byggmester Markhus – advised by Stratema – has secured a shareholder solution that honours creditor obligations, ensures business continuity and secures over 100 jobs.

With Melesio on board, the company is now financially reinforced and well-positioned for further development and long-term growth. The transaction represents a significant strategic milestone for one of the most experienced construction players in the Bergen region.

Founded in 1986, Byggmester Markhus has grown to become one of the largest building contractors in Bergen and the surrounding area. The company is well known for delivering quality and building long-term relationships across both design-build and carpentry contracts. In recent years, however, market conditions and project challenges led the company to seek court protection and enter reconstruction in November 2024.
Now, with a strong financial partner in place, the company is set to strengthen its regional position even further. Byggmester Markhus employs over 100 people and has an annual turnover of approximately NOK 450 million.
