Nordic Academy AS sold to Sonans Utdanning AS

With assistance from Stratema, Nordic Academy has entered into an agreement for the sale of the organisation, along with accompanying brands Karrierehuset and Karrieresystemer, to Sonans.

Following a period of significant growth attributed to a high success rate in public procurement processes, Nordic Academy and Stratema embarked on a divestment process. Stratema advised that Nordic Academy would benefit from diversifying its business by expanding its private sector activities. Furthermore, due to Nordic Academy’s need to augment its team with additional guidance counsellors, Sonans was highlighted as an ideal partner. Nordic Academy considers the expertise available at Sonans to be a valuable resource, well-suited for attaining the company’s objectives and meeting the requirements of its expanding customer base. 

About Nordic Academy

Nordic Academy is a training provider that offers professional training courses focused on restructuring processes, job clarification and activation, as well as specialised courses aimed at young people and adults. The training courses are provided to people who need to refocus themselves in the labour market, or who need to increase their qualifications in order to remain in, or enter, the labour market.

About Sonans

Sonans provides general studies programs and is Norway’s leading private education provider. The chain has private colleges in eight Norwegian cities, a comprehensive range of web-based courses, a liaison service for overseas studies and three upper secondary schools. Sonans Utdanning admits a total of about 7,000 students each year.

Nordic Academy had revenues of NOK 98 million and EBIT of NOK 18 million in 2013.
