Mats Rafoss – new Intern at Stratema

Driven by a passion for corporate finance and law, Mats is currently in his final year at the Faculty of Law, University of Oslo. He began his legal studies in 2018, and his growing interest in finance led him to pursue a bachelor’s in business administration at Copenhagen Business School simultaneously with his law degree.

In addition to his dual academic pursuits, Mats has gained substantial practical experience through internships in Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). His professional journey includes a role as a junior analyst at Omera Consulting, where he contributed to the successful merger of two creative consulting firms. His responsibilities encompassed commercial due diligence, synergy calculations, and new company structuring. He has also performed several valuations of potential investment cases and participated in financial due diligence for a buy-side acquisition. Mats has worked closely with executive management, developing strategies for tech companies across diverse sectors such as maritime software, Pro Audio, and MedTech.

At Stratema, Mats will be an integral part of the M&A Tech team until spring 2025. As a researcher within the technology team, he will have the opportunity to fully merge his passions for M&A and technology, while also developing new skills and enhancing his professional expertise.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending quality time at his family’s seaside cabin. During the winter, you’ll often find him on the ski slopes, where he’s known for his graceful telemark turns down the hills.
